Lee Listro of Narragansett passed away peacefully on November 18, 2024 at the age of 84. She was the only daughter of Emily Dunne Phelan and Richard Phelan. She was predeceased by Paul C. Listro, her husband of 57 years. Lee was born in Providence and was a graduate of St. Teresa’s Grammar and High Schools and Emmanuel College in Boston.

Lee was a kindergarten and first grade teacher in Providence at St. Augustine’s School (13 years) and in South Kingstown at Monsignor Clarke Catholic School (24 years). She loved teaching young children and enjoyed running into many of her former students over the years. Lee lived in Bonnet Shores for almost 80 years, part-time during the summers and full-time after her children went to college.

She was passionate about the Bonnet Shores Fire District and volunteered countless hours to help preserve its history and photographs. She was a life-long member of the Bonnet Shores Beach Club where she met many of her dearest friends. She was active in her community, going to church, playing cards with the ladies each week at the Bonnet Shores Community Building, attending book club, dining with friends, and staying in touch with people throughout her life. She was outgoing, friendly and always eager to help anyone in need.

Lee is survived by her three children, Susanne Listro (and Ted Wellman) of Oakland, CA, Lisa Listro (and Joel Sward) of Wakefield, RI, Matthew Listro (and Joanne Noel Listro) of Attleboro, MA and her four grandchildren, Phoenix Sward, Griffin Sward, Julia Listro and John Listro. She was also a beloved second mom to Joanne Wilkinson, Leslie Barrett, Julie Barrett Andersen and Nicole Barrett Marcoccia.

Calling hours will be Friday, November 22 from 3-5pm at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home, 825 Boston Neck Road, North Kingstown. The funeral mass will be Saturday, November 23 at 10am at St. Veronica's Chapel, 1035 Boston Neck Road, Narragansett. Followed by interment in St Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations to Little Sisters of the Poor at littlesistersofthepoorpawtucket.org.

Arrangements entrusted to Skeffington Funeral Home and Cremations, 925 Chalkstone Avenue, Providence.
